Links
A very well-linked idea
The blogosphere (buzzword), especially the local blogosphere attempts meme (buzzword) after meme to get those precious rankings (buzzword) up. Spammers offer link exchanges daily to anyone who owns a domain. After all, who doesn't want to be seen on Google?
Cockeyed.com has blown my socks off again (I've blogged about them before). Cockeyed's A very well linked story is a short story with each of the words linked to url's submitted by his readers on a first come, first served basis. The three coollest words were up for grabs at eBay!
What an elegant method of value exhange without the ego stroking so common in blogs nowadays.
PS: The word back to ÜberEllis is seem. I was too late for lines :(
RSS for dumm^H^H^H^H beginners - A short overview
I've had my share of dealing with the unfortunate ignorance of some clients who do not immediately see the advantages of RSS and what it could do for them.
Here's an easy to understand introduction to RSS that even Earl understands.
A referral keeper :)
PS: Happy Talk-like-a-pirate-day! :)
DrupalCamp starts today!
It's finally here - the first DrupalCamp in South-Africa. DrupalCamp Johannesburg
Here's a list of what will be covered in this course.
Ever read an article..
...that had you nodding in agreement all the way through?
From the pen of Seth Godin, "How to live happily with a great designer".
Ode to Friends
An amalgamation of friends and influences have come together into the perfect setup in my bedroom.
Shortly after experiencing Mac splendour, I've come to the very hard conclusion that working is better on a Mac, and PC gaming might be a touch overrated.
First off, \\family welcomes Stevie the TV to the ranks, and loads of thanks need to go to (still blogless) irrational for making that possible.
With the efforts of Vertice and god, I'm the proud owner of a PS2 too (Still undubbed! Shocking!). Being a lover of platform and adventure type games, I'll not miss the constant driver updates, or the installations ad nauseum.
Now li5a and Peter(?) PS2 share my bedroom from where I can online chat, update a website or two, blog, watch a DVD and play a game (or 9). Yes friends - I'll be keeping myself busy with titles like Shadow of the Colossus, Viewtiful Joe, Rez and Psychonauts - not to mention catching up on some classic rpgs like Final Fantasy.
To my friends
You all kick ass and whip booty. I cannot explain how happy all of the above has made me, and to you all, I dedicate this blog entry and loads of love! I'm indeed extremely fortunate to know you.
BarCamp Cape Town
With envy, I've read a million posts on several blogs about BarCamp..
This time, it's being held somewhere accessable. I hope to go!
*Update*
Provisional dates are 15 - 17 June 2006.
So far, topics I'm excited to see include: Introduction to Drupal as well as introduction to Plone.
Project: Nando's Franchise Waiting List Application
Nando's approached Obsidian to automate a large section of the Nando's Franchise application.

The previous solution worked better than expected, with over 30 new applicants monthly from the site alone. Today, the upgraded system with additional filters and way more features goes live to a staging server for client review. For ÜberEllis fans, a sneak preview:

These are FANTASTIC!

RSS is the new black
While catching up on my recommended daily allowence of syndicated news, a post on CrunchNotes.com caught my eye; Bidirectional RSS feeds!
RSS was the new black - it is, in fact, the palette from which many new colours will be mixed.
This link was brought to you, courtesy of an RSS feed.
